Fresh off of their homecoming win over Nevada, Colorado State football hits the road face New Mexico in a pivotal Mountain West showdown. Here is our preview of the game and how you can watch Rams and the Lobos face off. The New Mexico Lobos return back to University Stadium to defend their home turf against the Colorado State Rams in a Mountain West showdown on Friday. The game is scheduled to start on Friday, October 20th at 10:15 p.m. EST and can be viewed on ESPN3 for your late evening entertainment. As of now, line setters have the Rams as a -7.5 point favorite and the contest’s total 59.5.
Fans in Ft. Collins breathed a sigh of relief last week when Colorado State quarterback Nick Stevens hit star receiver Michael Gallup for a 17-yard touchdown pass in the fourth secure victory over Nevada. It was Gallup’s third touchdown on the night, and he finished with 13 catches for 263 yards. Stevens threw four TD passes overall and finished with 384 yards through the air, Dalyn Dawkins gained 191 rushing yards and another score in a well-rounded offensive performance for the nation ninth best total offense (520.7 yards per game). Now 5-2 overall and 3-0 in Mountain West play, the Rams travel Albuquerque on a short week to play a New Mexico squad coming in with a much different feeling.
The Rams have been set as a 7.5 point favorite on the road in this one and I can see why. Colorado State is riding a three-game winning streak and has beaten the Lobos in eight of their last 10 contests. In fact, the Rams have won the last seven meetings between the two schools. They have healthier quarterback and are way more balanced than New Mexico. For whatever reason, the Lobos seem to play a whole lot better in the confines of their own stadium. The offense certainly has produced twice as much at home than when they have gone on the road. Lamar Jordan is supposed to be suited up and ready to roll for this one, so that is a huge plus for the Lobos.
