A reeling Ole Miss football squad travels to the plains to take on Auburn. Here’s our preview of this SEC West matchup and how you can watch the game. This matchup presents two very different teams. one side, you have the Auburn Tigers who are currently looking like the complete team most thought they would be at the beginning of the year. On the other side you have the Ole Miss Rebels who are looking too hot after consecutive losses to Cal and Alabama, the latter of which waa 66-3 beatdown. Regardless of where these teams are headed, we could be in for a good game this Saturday.
Johnson has been on an historic tear since reentering the Tigers lineup following injury. He scored five touchdowns two weeks ago at Mizzou and added three more Saturday. He missed both the Clemson and Mercer games for Auburn, when the Tigers’ offense went into the tank, and maybe he was reason why. With its full compliment of play-makers on the field, including Johnson, Kamryn Pettway and Malik Willis joining quarterback Jarrett Stidham in the backfield, Auburn’s offense takes dimension. Updated Ole Miss vs Auburn betting odds for the game have the Tigers established as a solid 21 point favorite.
The offense has to get out of whatever funk it’s in. There is way too much talent on that offense for them to score three points, even if the opponent was Alabama. Shea Patterson has to get things going with AJ Brown once again, do that and the offense will open up. Ole Miss found some semblance ground game against Alabama (go figure) hopefully for them, that carries over to Auburn. While this game has certain elements that might incline me to say there was a possible chance at an upset for the Rebels, I just don’t see it happening. The Rebels might surprise us and even give in a real effort and give Auburn a game, but from what I’ve seen going into this game.
