Commodores vs Gators Live

Date : Saturday, September 30
Kick-off: 12:00 PM ET

Score predictions: Florida Gators vs. Vanderbilt Commodores, A new offensive line coach in Brad Davis was brought in to try and mold what is now a pretty veteran unit. Davis has been a hit among players, fans, and media because of his aggressive style and drill sergeant mentality on the field and a teacher mentor mentality off of it. If there was anyone more upset at the way the offensive line played during the opening game than Davis, you wouldn’t know. It was a gut punch is what it was,” he said this week when addressing the media for the first time since the game.

Florida is back home against Vanderbilt after winning its first SEC road game of the season, rallying back from a 13-point deficit to beat Kentucky, 28-27. Quarterback Luke Del Rio came off the bench to lead the comeback, despite throwing an interception on his first series of the game. Del Rio will start Saturday for the time in almost 11 months, but I expect Florida’s offense to build on the success it found late in Lexington. The Gators played like a different unit in the fourth quarter, and Del Rio deserves a lot of credit for that improvement.

When Florida is on offense they are going to have to run the ball. Forget what Alabama did Vanderbilt which was anything they wanted to do. Vanderbilt held two of their four opponents to 100 yards passing and already has five interceptions on the year. Ranked Kansas State visited Nashville from the pass happy Big 12 conference and left with a loss and also threw for just 76  Meanwhile the Commodores seem more susceptible against the run and gave up over 200 yards rushing to the Wildcats and absurd 496 yards rushing to Alabama last week. The Gators have a trio of running backs they trust and the offensive line is coming off of their best running game as well.
