Against Florida, he threw for 259 yards on 21-of-39 passing, but threw three interceptions compared to just one touchdown. John Kelly, Tennessee’s tailback, has had a great start to the season. He’s rushed for 349 yards and five touchdowns on 56 carries. He will need to keep this up as the season goes on. The Volunteers have played spotty defense all season. They were playing very well against Florida before the final drive. Tennessee outgained Florida over the course of the game, but a 63-yard Hail Mary to lose the contest tarnished the solid defense they played all day.
UMass has had an amazingly disappointing start to the season. They are 0-4 after losing Temple 29-21 in Week 3. The Minutemen have had little to be proud of to start the season. Quarterback Andrew Ford may be the only bright spot on the offense. He’s thrown for 1,204 yards and six touchdowns with just one interception on 64.3 percent passing. He’s done a good job getting lots of players involved with 11 different Minutemen catching passes this season. However, Ford has had to carry the offense. The team is averaging just 88.5 yards on the ground per game and just 2.6 yards per carry.
